WHY DONATE TO BMRF&E?

Your support of the Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS is crucial to us fulfilling our mission of preserving lives and property in and around Dallas, PA. Without your monetary donations, we would not be able to provide the great service, using the most state-of-the-art equipment, to mitigate emergencies impacting your neighbors.

Your donations are used for the general operations of the Fire Company and pay for such items as our new fire station, firefighting turnout gear, vehicles, medical supplies, vehicle maintenance, insurance and a host of other items. The BMRF&E is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your tax-deductible donation allows our more than 40 volunteer members to perform their life-saving mission.

There are several ways that you can help support our mission.

ANNUAL FUND DRIVE

The Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS conducts an annual fund drive each year via mail, usually in the Spring. Our fund drive letters are sent only to residents of our primary or “first-due” coverage area. We determine this by your physical address and not your zip code. Donations may be made by check and mailed. Please send your fund drive donation to:

Know that the Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS will never solicit donations over the phone. Occasionally, the Fire Company will solicit a third-party vendor for a specific fundraiser (family photos, etc.) This information will be posted on our website.

Today, the Dallas Kiwanis held a Halloween Party & Parade for children at Regional Station 1. Prizes were awarded to the best costumes, music was provided by Charlie Hayes, and Brace’s Apple Cider was served. In addition to setup and tear down, volunteers also handled 2 calls for service today; one a Ricketts Glen rescue and an MVA in Lehman Twp.Image attachmentImage attachment+2Image attachment

At around 7am this morning, Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS were dispatched to Old 115 in Lehman Township for a tractor trailer vs car accident. After receiving an update on the severity of the situation, command requested additional resources. Volunteers from Regional Rescue 1&2, Jackson Township Fire, Trucksville Rescue, Regional M30, and Kunkle M33 responded to the incident. Great job to all who responded.

Volunteers with Regional Engine1, Tanker1 & Shavertown Truck we’re dispatched to a residential fire alarm in dallas twp the regional engine arrived and determined that it was a faulty detector. Shavertown was canceled. A good reminder to make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are up to date and working

Another year is ramping up with our Misericordia University Student program! pictured below is senior Vincenzo Impresa starting his 4pm EMT shift today. & Sophomore Erin Durot is joining our active roster this year after attending EMT school last fall. Erin spent her summer, working in EMS in her home state of New Jersey and we are excited to have her back at BMR staffing Dallas Jr. Mounts Football today at Dallas School District. She is pictured below with sophomore Josh Martinez who recently completed the ambulance driving certification and is studying for is PA EMT.Image attachment

Area fire departments are responding to multiple calls due to flooded roadways trees down wires down, etc.

Please be advised that a flooded roadway is not necessarily an emergency unless there is danger to life. We understand there are a lot of roadways in the Dallas area that have water on them.

Anyone know of help for a couple families that are stuck at their homes bc their vehicles are near their houses and their bridge washed out? Idk if there's any help to get something so they can get out help with temporary bridge or something?

We are currently seeking 3 fully qualified, Pennsylvania Department of Health certified, EMT's to join our team as a full or part time employees. Prospective candidates must have a valid EMT certification through Pennsylvania Department of Health as well as current Basic Life Support and Emergency Vehicle Operators Course certifications.
Candidates must also have a clean background check as well as FBI fingerprint screen and child abuse history clearance.
Duties involve primarily 911 response under the direction of medical command.
EMT's will also practice medicine within the scope of their practice.
All shifts are available, including day and night shift as well as weekend and holiday coverage, with potential overtime opportunities. Paid time off accruals and personal health insurance as well
Prospective hires would report directly to Station Chief.
Salary commensurate with experience
