Clarification Regarding EMS Subscriptions
We've noticed a few posts containing some inaccurate information, and we’d like to clear up any confusion. Since Back Mountain Regional EMS began offering ambulance services in 1955, we’ve accepted subscriptions from residents outside our area of responsibility. Currently, our subscription is accepted by Plains Ambulance and Trans Med.
At this time, Kunkle Ambulance does not accept subscriptions from Back Mountain Regional, but we remain hopeful that this will change soon.
It’s important to note that each EMS organization determines the specific benefits provided with their subscription. For Back Mountain Regional, subscribers can expect to pay zero out of pocket expenses for services if all policy deductibles are met. Other ambulance companies may offer a percentage reduction in the bill instead.

To the Residents of Dallas Township,
As I reflect on the past 35 years of my career, I find that words often fall short. The time has passed quickly, and many moments have blurred together—a reminder of how full and demanding this profession can be. Law enforcement was not the path I originally chose; I once planned to become a surveyor. But I firmly believe that God places us exactly where we are meant to be, and He led me to a life of service to this community.
Throughout these years, there were countless moments when I walked away thinking, “That was close,” or “I’m not sure how we made it out of that.” Looking back, I know it was only by God’s grace and protection that I was able to return home each day.
I have met some of the kindest and most compassionate people one could hope to encounter. I have also met individuals whose actions reflected the darkest sides of humanity. Yet, no matter the circumstances, I always tried to treat every person with dignity and respect—even when it was not easy.
To my fellow officers: remember that the people you encounter are often living through one of the most stressful moments of their lives. Treat them with the same respect and understanding you would want for yourself or your family. And above all, never forget that your safety must always come first.
To the community—thank you. Thank you for trusting me with the honor of serving as your Chief of Police. From the beginning, my goal was to build trust, strengthen relationships, and bring our police department and residents closer together. A community that supports one another is a community that thrives. I am deeply proud of the unity, resilience, and strength that define Dallas Township.
To the coworkers I have served with, past and present: thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and support. It has been a privilege to walk this path with you, and I will always be grateful to those who stood beside me and watched my back.
And to my family—thank you for your patience through the late nights, the missed birthdays, the interrupted holidays, and all the sacrifices this career demanded. I could not have done any of this without you. This job often asked more of you than of me, and I am forever grateful.
As I close this chapter, I do so with gratitude, humility, and deep appreciation for the people of this township. Thank you for the trust you placed in me. Thank you for the privilege of serving you. And thank you for allowing me to call Dallas Township home—not just as a resident, but as your Chief.

On 2/27/26 at approximately 7:59am, Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS was dispatched to the area of the Dallas Mobile Home Park for a reported motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, crews located a two-vehicle collision with significant damage. One occupant was found trapped inside the smaller vehicle. Firefighters deployed hydraulic rescue tools to safely extricate the patient with the assistance of Kunkle FD and Trucksville FD.
The patient was removed within approximately 15 minutes and transferred to BMR EMS for evaluation and transport to a local hospital. The truck operator was assessed on scene by Kunkle EMS.
Fire personnel and Dallas Twp EMA also mitigated hazards including a moderate sized diesel fuel leak. The roadway remained closed for approximately 80 minutes.
Big thank you too Kunkle and Trucksville Fire Departments for their assistance.
We appreciate the public’s cooperation and support with the road closure.

Volunteers were out tonight shoveling snow away from fire hydrants. A friendly reminder that if you have a hydrant in front of or near your home, it’s greatly appreciated if you can help keep it clear. Your help makes a big difference in an emergency—thank you!
I’ve tried to keep ours cleared over the years but I’m getting older and our neighbors are disabled and/or elderly, now. Could they clear the one in New Goss manor at Highland and Hillcrest by the big rock? I would sleep better knowing it’s cleared for our neighbors.

When clearing snow around fire hydrants, please remember:
👉 A minimum of 3 feet of clear space is needed ALL the way around the hydrant.
This gives firefighters room to connect hoses quickly and safely when seconds matter most. A hydrant that’s only partially cleared can still slow down an emergency response.

State officials are seeking public input about a bridge replacement project that will shutter Memorial Highway (Route 415) in Dallas for approximately a week in the summer of 2027, forcing drivers …Regional Tanker 1 & 2, EMS & Squad responded to Eaton Township. In Wyoming County alongside other Luzerne County units from Kunkle & Shavertown for a residential structure fire. Units operated for approximately five hours before returning back to the coverage area.

𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗜𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘
𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: August 14, 2025
Dallas Township, PA — On August 14, 2025, at approximately 10:58 a.m., Dallas Township Police were dispatched to a residence on Lake Street for a reported domestic incident.
The initial investigation determined that a female suspect had allegedly assaulted a male victim the previous night. After the victim was able to leave the residence, he contacted police. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The female barricaded herself inside the residence. Officers attempted to make contact and negotiate with her, but she refused to exit. As a precaution, Lake Street was closed between College Manor and Elmcrest, and the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (PSP SERT) was requested to assist.
After negotiations were unsuccessful, the PSP SERT Team entered the residence and took the female into custody without further incident. Charges are pending.
Lake Street was reopened to traffic at approximately 4:45 p.m. Officers remain on scene processing evidence.
Special thanks to Back Mountain Regional Fire and EMS, Kunkle Fire Co., Pennsylvania State Police SERT, PennDOT and the Dallas Township Road Department for their assistance during this incident.
Tonight, members from Back Mountain Regional Shavertown and Sweet Valley met at Eli’s towing and worked on a series of vehicle rescue exercises.

Around 7pm on 8/10/25 Back Mountain Regional Fire, Kunkle Fire, Shavertown and Trucksville Fire responded to the area of 12 Westminster Road in Dallas Twp. for the reported vehicle on fire
121 Engine arrived on scene first and deployed their bumper line. Shavertown Truck and Engine arrived next and assisted with fire attack and extinguishment. All other units were stood down. No injuries were reported.
Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS, Dallas PA thank you for responding so quickly. This happened in front of our house. We were away on vacation and appreciate the quick response.

A residential structure box was transmitted tonight In Dallas Township. Upon the arrival of Chief Three & 121 rescue, the box was held to Regional and Shavertown. Units operated for approximately one hour. Great job by all the volunteers who responded.

I woke up to smoke against my foundation yesterday morning. The mulch was hot, and the masonry was scorching. I raked away from the house to determine it wasn't the landscape wires..after flipping off circuit breakers... no electric involvement, so hosed down all of the mulch! Upon some research I found that mulch is highly flammable. I assume our little event..that could have turned ugly..was either an errant cigarette or firework "ash". We really need to stay aware of our surroundings and what can happen.

But their spirit—their bravery, their laughter, their unwavering commitment—will never leave us. They stood shoulder to shoulder with us in the toughest moments, and their memory will continue to stand with us every single day. We honor their sacrifice not just with ceremony, but by carrying forward their strength in our hearts. We’ll continue the watch, holding the line with pride and purpose, because that’s what they would have done. Rest easy, brother. We’ve got it from here.

At approximately 10 AM this morning Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS was alerted to a residential structure fire on Main Street in Dallas Boro. Upon arrival, heavy fire was noted and units from Back Mountain Regional, Kunkle, Shavertown, Trucksville, Northmoreland and Idetown worked to extinguish the fire

Volunteers with Regional Engine 1, Tanker 1 Rescue 2 and Tanker 2 responded to Main Rd., Sweet Valley, Lake Township on the commercial structure fire box
Unit units operated for approximately two hours and will return to service by Valley command
Great response by all agencies.
Around 3am Volunteers with Engine 1, Tanker 1 and 2 as well as Rescue 2 responded to a residential structure fire in Ross Township. Volunteers operated for approximately two hours before being returned to service by command.

Volunteers continued the tradition of bringing Santa to the Dallas twp Christmas tree lighting ceremony tonight.

We are in need of Firefighters, EMTs, ambulance drivers, truck/building/Grounds maintenance staff, janitorial volunteers. Fundraising volunteers ... If you have any ideas on how you can help, we can greatly use it.
